GOLF Link - Initial Handicap Provision

Modified on Wed, 8 Feb, 2023 at 1:49 PM

Before an initial handicap can be given, the player must first hold a Golflink Number. For the process on the creation of Golflink numbers - follow this help article

Once a Golflink number has had a new Golflink number created, the status of the number will be unallocated.

To obtain a first time handicap the player must first return 3x18 Hole scorecards (or 6x9 Hole scorecards). These can be physical cards or confirming social scores via the MiScore App.

For initial handicaps, Golf Australia recommend the player is given a temporary daily handicap of 54 and completes the round scoring Stableford. Additional information can be obtained via Golf Australia's Handicapping document

To enter the players initial handicap scores via MiClub, navigate to the member directory and search for the member.

Once on the member's profile, underneath Golflink Details click Edit Details & Adjustments.

Choose Ad-Hoc Score entry

Search for the Course and Tee block the round was played on

The course details will then auto-fill.

For the purposes of initial handicapping the following configuration is recommended:

  • Score Date
  • Score Type - Stableford
  • Score Status - Normal Score
  • Played Off - 54
  • PCC - Set to 0.0
  • Confirming Social Score - Yes

Competition Score and Handicapping score will be the Stableford Points scored by the Player for the round.
