What date will my club be upgraded to the Golf Australia CONNECT platform?
Migration of all MiClub golf sites onto the new Golf Australia CONNECT platform will commence Monday 29 September with the following timetable in place:
MiClub Premium Golf
Tuesday 30 September | Site upgrades A to I |
Wednesday 1 October | Site upgrades J to S |

Thursday 9 October | Sites testing |
Friday 10 October | Competition submission available (all sites) |
As per the above upgrade schedule, handicapped competition golf will commence on Monday 06 October (MiClub Premium Golf) and Friday 10 October (MiClub OneGolf) respectively.
Note: The selected dates for system upgrades were selected by Golf Australia and in line with the availability of the new Golf Australia CONNECT platform. Dates were not chosen nor recommended by MiClub.
While MiClub understands the inconvenience clubs are experiencing in not being able to submit competition scores for handicapping during this transition period, it is important to emphasise the scale of the required system upgrade. In terms of complexity, the Golf Australia CONNECT implementation is the most significant systems transition MiClub has undertaken in its 25-year history.
How will split indexes be managed in Golf Australia CONNECT?
The current method of 54-hole indexing is not supported in the new Golf Australia CONNECT platform. Split indexes will only be supported between 19 and 36 holes only. Daily handicaps over 37 will be automatically allocated the same sequence of indexes as 19-36.
Procedures for updating course indexes and MiClub Golf / OneGolf competition templates will be distributed to all clubs in due course.

ADDITIONAL FAQ FOLLOWING GA WEBINAR (22 July 2025)
Is there any competition handicapping available during the transition period from Golf Link to Golf Connect?
No. As per Golf Australia’s recommendations, clubs should plan to run non-handicapped competitions only between Monday 29 September and Friday 10 October.
What are the MiClub transition dates for moving clubs to the new Golf Australia Connect platform?
All MiClub client sites will be transitioned to Golf Connect between 02 – 10 October 2025. A timetable of site upgrades will be made available to clients in due course, with clients contacted individually as site transfers are completed and handicapping services can recommence.
Will the MiScore digital scoring app be available for competitions during the transition period?
Yes, MiScore will be available during the transitions period for club competitions. It is recommended that clubs run non-handicapped events only (i.e. Ambrose, Foursomes etc.) during this period and clearly inform members that handicapping is NOT available during this period.
Can a club competition run during the transition period be handicapped once Golf Connect is live?
No. Handicapped competitions will only be available once MiClub have transitioned client sites to the new Golf connect platform. Competitions run before this date cannot be handicapped retrospectively.
Can a visitor be added to a competition during the transition period?
Yes. During the transition period, handicap lookup from Golf Link/Golf Connect will be offline. The handicap displayed initially on historical visitor bookings will be the players handicap on the date they last played, which will need manual updating at the time of play.
Club administrators can adjust the GA handicap of visiting players via the Edit Booking | Competition menu in the MiClub timesheet. If a player is not aware of their Golf Link number / Golf ID then please assign them a temporary Golf Link number and handicap. A card can be printed if required, or the MiScore app will pull through the players temporary details matching to their name.
Does a golfer require an email address in Golf Connect to access the new Golf Connect digital assets (web and mobile app)?
Yes. An email address in the member record is required for verification purposes for any member to access the new Golf Australia digital assets.
How can my club update a members email address through to Golf Connect?
Clubs can update member email addresses via their golf management systems (Membership and / or MiClub Golf). Full details on how to manage member records will be provided to clubs in due course.
Will Golf Australia provided clubs details to assist members in accessing Golf Connect digital assets?
Yes. Golf Australia will provide a toolkit of materials to assist clubs in transitioning members across to the new Golf Connect platform as required.
Do all members need the Golf Australia Connect App installed and running before our club can run a competition?
No. The Golf Connect App is where members can view their handicap online (web / mobile) but is not a prerequisite to be enabled for a club to run a competition.
Will MiClub still be able to identify a guests home Club?
Yes, when booking a visitor in using their GolfID, MiClub retrieve what their home club is which will be displayed on the timesheet and if applicable the competition report.

MiClub anticipate that minor changes to your current golf management procedures will be applicable in the new Golf Connect setup. Please note that all changes to system processes will be clearly communicated to all clubs via a number of channels prior to the implementation of Golf Connect.
System changes are likely to include the following:
- Different processes for the creation of temporary courses
- 9 hole handicap calculations will change
- Removal of total scores entry
- Split 3rd indexes will be disabled by GA
- Ad-hoc score entry for initial handicap cards will be hole by hole scores and far more straightforward
- GOLF IDs (formerly a players GolfLink number) will be with the player for life

- When the transition period is announced and live, no scores can be processed for handicapping during that downtime period set by GA / MiClub
