Golf Australia CONNECT - Course Changes & Temporary Course Creation

Modified on Thu, 18 Sep at 3:00 PM

Note for Social Clubs - Please contact Miclub support for importing away courses via our helpdesk support@miclub.com.au

Any permanent or temporary changes to a course which is 9 or 18 holes needs to be submitted directly in the Golf Connect system. Upon submitting course changes or new temporary courses, your local Golf Authority (Golf WA, Golf NSW etc.) will be notified to create ratings for each tee block.

Once the tee blocks have been approved by your local Golf Authority, they will appear on the Competitions page within Miclub/1Golf, ready to be imported - refer link below for instructions on importing course changes:

GolfCONNECT - Updating course changes & importing new/temp courses

Specialty courses that are not 9 holes and less than 18 holes (10 - 17 holes) will be managed in the reverse way. MiClub will input the data into your system and configure within MiClub. Please complete all data fields in the relevant template below and email to support@miclub.com.au to initiate the process.

Notes on Split Indexes

  • Split indexes are supported from 1 - 36. Daily Handicap's over 37 will be automatically allocated the same sequence of indexes as 19 - 36.
  • If no data is added to Index 2 (19 - 36), then Daily Handicap over 19 will be automatically allocated the same sequence of indexes as 1-18.

Notes for courses intended to be used for handicapping:

1. Courses between less than 9 holes or between 10 - 15 holes must be created with 9 hole course ID, slope & scratch rating. The Scores for first 9 holes scored will be submitted for handicapping.

2. Courses between 16 - 17 holes must be created with 18 hole course ID, slope & scratch rating

Notes for courses intended to be used for novelty events (no handicapping):

1. If you know which slope / scratch rating you want to use for the course, please define this in the template. If unsure, leave the slope / scratch blank and MiClub will assign a generic slope / scratch rating

IMPORTANT HANDICAPPING INFORMATION FOR SPECIALTY COURSES

As per the Golf Australia Handicapping Guidelines handicapping for courses that are greater than 9 holes and less than 18 holes must follow the requirements outlined below:

Competitions played on courses with 15 holes or less

  • Players must be handicapped on a 9 hole score. any scores played on holes 10 - 15 are not included in handicapping
  • If a player completes a minimum of 8 holes, their score qualifies for handicapping.
  • Where only 8 holes have been played, the player will be deemed to have had net par on the 9th hole. The score will be entered as a 9-hole score
  • The Golf Connect system will add an expected score for the 9th hole if only an 8 hole scorecard is returned (using their algorithm)

Competitions played on courses with 16 - 17 holes

  • Players must be handicapped on an 18 hole score
  • Where 16-17 holes inclusive have been played, the player will be deemed to have had net par for the remaining holes (unless it is considered the player has discontinued play with a view to achieving a specific score for handicap purposes)
  • The Golf Connect system will add an expected score for any missing hole scores (using their algorithm)
