Nine Hole Handicap Calculation Method
Handicaps for 18 holes and 9 holes may differ as each course has a different slope rating to apply to the GA Handicap.
Nine hole handicaps for nett and foursomes are calculated on the number of shots on the nine played not half the 18 hole handicap.
ie Calculated handicap is 18 however for the nine holes played ten shots are to be taken so handicap would be 10 not 9.5
For foursomes of 9 nine holes calculate using same formula for team handicap to then be divided by half or 3/8th
Player 1 - 18 handicap with 10 shots on the nine played
Player 2 - 16 handicap with 8 shots on the nine played
Sum of Player 1 and Player 2 - 10 + 8 = 18
Halved for foursomes - 18 / 2 = 9
Not 1/4 of 18 hole handicap of 34 would be 8.5
