Prizes - Brief Explanation

Prizes can be awarded on any number of variations.  After learning all different prize types recommend to create prize templates to consistently ward prizes to winners


Prizes Types

  • Dollars 
  • Balls - Physical ball that can also have a dollar value to be converted to the [Dollars] ledger
  • Points - Used for Micropower prize allocations
  • Vouchers - Physical voucher that is awarded to winners or a voucher that has a face value that can be converted to Dollars ledger
  • Other - Prizes that have no face value ie $0 and requires a Description


Prize Variations


Overall Winners

  • 1st, 2nd, 3th, etc - Selects the best scores from the whole field
    • Can include Guests
  • Male and/or Female winners 
    • Selects the best scores from each gender in singles events only
    • Cannot be used for pairs/team events to select all male or all female groups
    • Will not display if competition is set to single gender ie Men or Ladies
    • Can include Guests and/or Overall Winners

Place Getters

  • Awarding of prizes for good scores on the day
    • Method
      • Best Above - Award prizes to scores above a Stableford or Par score or below a cutoff for Stroke
      • Top # - Set number of winners generally dependent on number in field
      • Top % - The percentage of winners in the field generally set amount for all competitions
    • Value Change
      • Apply a step up or down of prizes based on position in field
      • Increment - Lowest place getter will receive the Place Prize value and then step up by the Change Quantity value
      • Decrement - Highest place getter will receive the Place Prize value then step down by the Change Quantity value
    • Options
      • Include Winners
      • Include Guests
      • Grade Enabled
        • Prizes can be equally awarded to grades as defined in competition setup.  
        • Use proportial place getters to award prizes based on number s in grade
      • Male/Female Place Getter
        • Separate grades for male and female place getters cannot be defined in competition
        • Selects the best scores from each gender in singles events only
        • Cannot be used for pairs/team events to select all male or all female groups
        • Will not display if competition is set to single gender ie Men or Ladies
        • Can include Guests and/or Overall Winners

  • Albatross

Graded Winners

  • 1st, 2nd, 3th, etc - Selects the best scores from the each grade  and awards equal prizes
    • Can include Guests
    • Can include Overall Winners
    • Grade separations are defined in competition setup

Sweepstake

  • Random generator of prize(s) any player(s) in field
    • Winner Amount
    • Number of Winners
    • AM/PM Split will proportionally split the Number of Winners between AM and PM dependent on number in each field.  PM is generally defined as tee times after 11am for all day events
    • Can include Guests

Gross Winners

  • Gross winners awards prizes based on gross scores of competition. ie All players scores are calculated from 'Scratch' handicap
    • Stableford Gross Scoring 
      • 4 points - eagle
      • 3 points - birdie
      • 2 points - par
      • 1 point - bogie
    • Par Gross Scoring
      • Plus for Birdie or better
      • Half for Par
      • Minus for Bogie or worse
  • Other competition types can also be selected as an in-conjunction competition prize
    • ie Team Stableford in-conjunction can award a prize to the best team calculating the best score per hole
  • Can include Guests
  • Can include Nett Winner (Overall winner)
  • Can include Place Getters
  • Can include/exclude winners on following

    Can win scratch overall and a graded scratch and any nett prize.

Nearest to Pin


Award prizes for nearest the pin events on any hole on the course

  • Hole #
  • Prize
  • Amount
  • Graded will create same prize for each grade
    • Cannot award graded near pins for team event competitions based on individual handicap
  • Description required when selecting Other prize
    • Can include Guests
    • Can include Whole TImesheet
      • Used for all day timesheets that may have separate competitions for men's, ladies, morning/afternoon etc
      • Winners must be registered in any competition on the day


Hole Prizes

  • Hole #
  • Prize
  • Amount

    • Can include Guests

Proportional Place Getters

  • Example grade split of players registered in A 20%, B-50%, C-30% will award prizes proportionally

    • ie 1 ball for amount and 10 number of winners will award balls for example
      • A - 2 balls, B - 5 balls, C - 3 balls
