Uploading Scores to DotGolf

Modified on Tue, 12 Jul 2022 at 03:46 PM

NOTE: From May 2020 the method of submitting scores to DotGolf is now using the new API webservice integrated with MiClub golf. The below instructions are no longer valid. The score upload interface will now simply have a submit score button.

We now also automatically query DotGolf Database from the API nighty to get any updated handicap values.

Integration also allows visitor bookings using the 7 digit DotGolf # and auto hcap update on competition opening as well.

1. Ensure all competition scores have been entered

Check that all competition scores have been entered by ensuring all players registered in the competition have a blue trophy on their booking cell or alternatively, check the administrator leaderboard and ensure there are no players at the bottom of the field who do not have a score entered.

2. Close the competition

Once all required prizes have been allocated and finalised the competition can be closed. The closing of the competition allows competition reports to be generated as well as the batch file of scores to be sent to DotGolf. Select the Close Competition option and follow the prompts to close the competition.

Once the competition is closed the system will signal the text file of scores is available to be downloaded by displaying a green tick on the competition.

3. Download score text file

From the admin menu bar select the NZ Golf option followed by Scorecard Upload.

Select the date in which to select the scorecard batch from and then select the required batch from the Batches found drop down menu.

Once the relevant batch is selected choose the Close Batch option.

Once this has been selected choose the Create NZGA File option.

The system will take a couple of seconds to generate the file and will display an option to Click HERE to download.

Once selected a text file will be downloaded under the file name NZGA_XX with XX being replaced by the batch number. Save this file in a known file destination.

Login to DotGolf and upload the member scores file. This can be done by navigating to Members > Upload Members / Scores (NZGA.TXT).
